The brief

A regional weekly newspaper publishes separate Laguna, Batangas and Cavite editions, and all three have to reach the press as print-ready files every Friday.

What I did

As Graphic Designer and Editor-in-Chief I run the full weekly cycle, from news gathering and editing to layout, final checks and the CTP files sent to the printer.

Design decisions

• One master InDesign template for all three editions, so each week starts from a proven structure instead of a blank page.
• A clear headline hierarchy, so readers can tell the lead story from the briefs at a glance.
• Stories, photos, captions, ads and legal notices balanced page by page, with a final check of every page before it goes to press.
